In the Best Care Asthma Program the Certified Respiratory Educator will:

• In collaboration with primary care provider, confirm diagnosis.

• Optimize medication and support patient adherence.

• Ensure effective delivery of medications.

• Improve patient knowledge.

• Improve mental health (anxiety).

• Identify co-morbidities.

• Educate patient on importance of vaccinations.

• Encourage increased and regular activity.

• Offer self management training.

• Support patient self-efficacy.

• Create an Asthma action plan.

• Provide case management.
